{"id":8115,"date":"2021-07-03T12:26:09","date_gmt":"2021-07-03T11:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.guiasdebarcelona.com\/nueva-escultura-de-jaume-plensa-en-barcelona-sant-just-desvern\/"},"modified":"2021-07-03T12:30:12","modified_gmt":"2021-07-03T11:30:12","slug":"nueva-escultura-de-jaume-plensa-en-barcelona-sant-just-desvern","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.guiasdebarcelona.com\/en\/nueva-escultura-de-jaume-plensa-en-barcelona-sant-just-desvern\/","title":{"rendered":"New Sculpture of Jaume Plensa in Barcelona, Sant Just Desvern"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Born in 1955 in Barcelona, where he studied at the Llotja School of Art and Design and at the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts.<br>Since 1980, the year of his first exhibition in Barcelona, he has lived and worked in Berlin, Brussels, England, France and the United States, currently resides and works in Barcelona, in the town of Sant Just Desvern where he has his workshop and recently has given his sculpture Chloe.<br>He has been a teacher at the \u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and regularly cooperates with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as a guest professor. He has also given many lectures and courses at other universities, museums and cultural institutions around the world.<br>Plensa regularly shows his work at galleries and museums in Europe, the United States and Asia.<br>A very significant part of Plensa\u2019s work is in the field of sculpture in the public space. Installed in several cities in Spain, France, Japan, England, Korea, Germany, Canada, USA, etc.,<br>The Crown Fountain, which was unveiled in Chicago\u2019s Millennium Park in 2004, is one of Plensa\u2019s largest projects and, without doubt, one of the most brilliant.
